Role Summary

This position is accountable for implementation and development of performance improvement of drilling operations across the fleet. The role analyses drilling operations performances and develop performance reports. Responsible for the generation of all performance dashboards and operations documentation including Well Control Manual. The role will propose performance improvements and targets to offshore teams and Drilling Operations Group. Provide drilling technical knowledge with expert experience in well construction process.


  • Monitor/Analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) related to the drilling operations with appropriate software and analysis of Lessons Learned System.
  • Highlight opportunities for cost efficiency and performance improvement, identify challenges and propose innovative technology solutions.
  • Champion of the Plan-Do-Measure-Learn concept and ensure the offshore teams are challenged to have the meaningful conversations before and prior to a task.
  • Develop communication tool kit (dashboards, infographics newsletters and other formats) and promote sharing of performances and good practices to Drilling Operations Group and other stakeholders.
  • Coach Rig Managers / OIMs and Toolpushers for the implementation of the performance process culture onboard each installation and for regional performance meetings.
  • Actively contribute to the Monthly Performance Review (MPR) by providing performance KPIs for each installation.
  • Participate in the achievement of the Borr Drilling Cost Saving / Cash Burn cost efficiency programme.
  • Establish operations / reporting guidelines that will be converted into corporate procedures.
  • Focal point for Borr Well Control Manual. Responsible for yearly updates when industry standards change.
  • Support offshore teams, team spirit, stimulate motivation and facilitate knowledge sharing across the fleet. Maintain good two-way communication on/offshore.
  • Analyse the NPT and give solutions for performance improvement.
  • Work closely with Marketing Group to meet current and prospective clients to brand our performance culture and demonstrate how we track and monitor performance.
  • Provide guidance and support to onshore and offshore personnel as required.


  • Masters degree in Drilling Engineering / Mechanical Engineering.
  • Extensive experience in a drilling engineering role would be advantageous.
  • 4+ offshore experience in supervisory / leadership role.
  • Thorough understanding of all the business functions (Operations / HR / Finance / Marketing / Legal etc).
  • Motivation to effectively lead change and manage complexity. Develop a mindset to achieve more with less (People and resources). Drive growth through high performance teams and high-quality relationships and lead transformation. Lead others effectively and understand the impact that their leadership has on others.
  • Highly effective communicator with strong analytical skills and ability to produce executive reports, performance analysis / spreadsheets of high quality.
  • Dedicated team player with sound risk mitigation, well design and problem-solving skills.
  • Liase with independent Well Examiner when downhole hole problems exist
  • Ability to understand and react with diverse groups and operations.
  • Travel is an essential part of the role, visiting rigs, clients and attending DWOPs / Technical Conferences and Drilling Contractor Forums.
