Role Summary

The Technical Manager will assume overall responsibility for Borr Drillings technical support interface with operations. He/she will oversee a group of SME’s (Subject Matter Experts) to deliver technical expertise and guidance to the field during rig NPT, rig modification requests, projects, client support, technical investigations, etc. In addition, the Technical Manager will establish and drive technical standards in line with Borr Drillings policies and procedures.


  • Provide technical support and expertise in line with Borr Drilling and industry standards to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Manage a team of subject matter experts to support Borr drilling operations.
  • Work in conjunction with Maintenance Manager to define Borr Drilling preventative maintenance routines and QA/QC of CMMS.
  • Develop and implement Borr Drilling technical standards to maximise operational uptime whilst optimising maintenance costs. 
  • Support Borr Drilling projects during planning, execution, and close out phases of the project.  
  • Provide technical support during SPS/Reactivation project activity.
  • Develop technical KPI’s to measure performance of rig/assets in line with Borr Drilling policies and procedures.
  • Work in conjunction with Borr Drillings newbuild team to ensure technical compliance of newbuild assets and quality control during commissioning. 
  • Visibility onboard Borr Drilling rigs on a frequent basis in conjunction with audit and oversight of Borr Drilling policies and procedures.
  • Technical review/approval of annual rig maintenance budgets and unplanned AFE requests.


  • Minimum 15 years experience in the offshore drilling industry. 
  • Previous experience as Maintenance Supervisor or equivalent position. 
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and in writing.
  • Computer literate and familiar with MS office applications Word, Excel, Power-point.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Proactive approach and willing to learn and improve knowledge.
  • Willingness to travel.
