Role Summary

Provide support to the Fleet to ensure compliance to Company’s internal marine policies, procedures, recommended practices and external regulatory requirements – Classification Societies, Flag & Coastal State.


  • Focal point in the oversight of regulatory certification & survey requirements.
  • Direct support to rig and shore-base personnel on matters relating to regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain and track all Class & Flag certificates with advisement to Marine Manager of any non-compliance.
  • Ensure specific Coastal State regulatory requirements are communicated to Regional management for review and reference.
  • Review Regulatory Technical bulletins, Technical Documents and Industry notices as a means to identify regulatory issues and requirements that will affect the fleet in future operations.
  • Maintain fleet certificate and surveys in SharePoint for reference and review
  • Monitor the Classification Surveys due dates and liaise with Rig Management to ensure these are carried out in a timely fashion.
  • Monitor Flag State requirements, including Flag Annual Safety Inspections and ensure adherence with requirements, manages Flag Exemptions Certificates
  • Ensure Marine Operations Manuals are up-to-date and available for each Rig
  • Ensure SOPEP Plans are approved and in place for each Rig
  • Maintain dashboard for Class and Flag requirement into the Company database
  • Monitor ABS Safenet & DNV Exchange sites and communicate survey requirements to fleet as required.
  • Responsible to update the Rig Certifications on the share drive
  • Responsible to confirm that insurance policies for Hull and Machinery, P&I, bunker liabilities, wreck removal and blue cards are in place for each Rig, both operating and laid up.
  • Updates the weekly Rig Mover Report
  • Responsible to produce weekly and monthly updates to Marine Manager
  • Ensure regular progress reporting is communicated as required to show progress against approved goals


  • 5+ years in the drilling industry, with knowledge from Rig Owner Company, Class Society, Flag State
  • Minimum High School, bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Previous Marine Regulatory Compliance experience
  • Administrative skills experience
  • Good communication both oral and written
  • Ability to work systematically and independently
