Role Summary
Borr Drilling is looking for a Director of Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental that will be responsible for leading all strategies and activities within this area, which will include safety programs and interventions for the company. The individual will shape the company’s QHSE vision, culture and compliance on a global level. He / She will be responsible for influencing and collaborating with operations and support functions on a global level to ensure compliance to internal / external QHSE requirements as well as partnering with government agencies and clients to promote a best in industry QHSE performance and culture.
Responsibilities
- Accountability for Quality Health Safety and Environmental organization and their activities on a global level including ownership of QHSE systems, including the management of the QHSE Management systems.
- Lead the global interaction and partnerships with clients and government agencies on design and compliance to client specific / legislative QHSE requirements
- Develop and implement the QHSE Future Vision, Strategies, and continuous improvement opportunities in consultation with the Executive Leadership.
- Provide visible presence and personal reinforcement of the QHSE vision and objectives, including conducting site visits, challenging Quality performance and encouraging appropriate prioritization in decision making
- To continuously review and challenge the existing QHSE processes and structure and proactively seeks more efficient and effective ways of functioning
- Develop and maintain a collaborative working relationship with the company’s leadership teams and various departments in the development and implementation of strategies and plans to promote the expected and agreed QHSE performance and culture
- The Director of QHSE shall ensure effective Risk Management by notifying management and the organization in a timely manner as well as communicates lessons learned across the organization as a risk mitigation and preventive measure
- Provide the framework and Leadership for the QHSE Assurance and Audit annual program and ensure that all systems, processes and tools are implemented consistently and effectively
- Prepare all necessary reports and communication material for internal and external requirements on a as needed basis
- Provide stewardship for the coordination and management of the effective use of third-party inspection resources across the organization
- Effectively manage the global QHSE team’s resourcing, succession planning, raining, performance and manpower development, especially focusing on developing national content and capability.
- Provide effective leadership, guidance and education for all QHSE programs as well as for incident investigations and ensures measures and processes are put in place for follow up and closure of remedial actions
- Provide frameworks for behavioral changes by means of education as well as recognition programs for encouraging the right QHSE performance and attitude from our employees and contractors (including health and wellbeing)
- Provide QHSE processes and resources to manage contractor and supplier quality performance.
- Responsible for verifying internal and external reporting (IADC) of relevant QHSE data.
- Be the overall responsible for establishing and making sure the Emergency Response procedures is functional across the company as well as be Level 3 Emergency Response key focus point.
- Overall responsible for QHSE input to tenders and bids.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum engineering or related discipline with extensive related experience required. Master of Business Administration preferred.
- Relevant experience in QHSE leadership roles at a director level in the Oil and Gas Industry
- Experience from operation of drilling rigs offshore and onshore are preferred.
- NEBOSH (or similar organizations) Diploma or master’s certifications preferred including Safety training as follows:

- Lock-out Tag-out Procedures
- BOSIET
- Personal Protective Equipment Analysis
- Risk Management
- Safety Leadership and Safety Management
- Deep knowledge of the industry, including established relationships within key HSE organizations.
- Ability work in and drive an environment of change with proven ability to develop new strategies, effective leadership skills to build, motivate and align a multinational team and ensure high quality deliverables.
- Professionally astute, highly action oriented, with strong leadership and relationship development skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills with ability to proactively interact and maintain positive relationship with customers, fellow employees and the executive leadership.
- Strong, proven leadership skills in order to lead and effectively align and manage a global team while practicing collaborative skills with the various and diverse leadership teams.
